Traditionally Embroidered Blanket / Wall Carpet

The Kyrgyz textiles are completely hand made. With traditional ornaments embroidered symbolizing forms of the flora and fauna of the Kyrgyz mountain steppe in its abstractness. The works are mostly done by women , who come together in groups and finish the pieces together. All carpets and bedding are unique. Kyrgyzstan is a landlocked country with approximately 7 million people in Central Asia. It is bordered on the north by Kazakhstan, on the southeast by China, on the south by Tajikistan and to the west by Uzbekistan. Read less
